Investing in refugee youth for our collective future.
As well as their homes, many refugee youth also lose access to skills, confidence, social circles, aspirations and dreams.
Our mission is to create opportunities for refugee youth to belong and lead positive change for themselves and their communities.
Our Approach.
Refugee youth face uncertainty about their future and barriers to living a happy, fulfilling, and engaged life while in displacement.
Through partnerships and awareness raising, we create opportunities for refugee youth in their present circumstances, while working with them to develop skills they can use both now and in the future.
All aspects of our work are guided by Youth Adult Partnership (YAP) methodology and Refugee Led Action Principles.
βTo be called a refugee is the opposite of an insult; it is a badge of strength, courage, and victory.β
β Tennessee Office for Refugees
There are is an unprecedented 70.8 million people around the world have been forced from home by conflict and persecution. Among them are nearly 30 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18.
Whether these young people return to their home countries, remain in host countries, or are resettled to a third country, such as the United States, they are a part of our future. Their lived experiences and resilience are important assets for building safe, inclusive communities where-ever they end up.
This is a collective effort.
